OUR ALBUMS

LINEN HARD COVER - 20 PAGES
"We Love Books."

Today most of us carry our memories digitally in our pockets. But so little of these memories are actually carefully considered, printed and presented in our homes. I strongly believe in the art of printing and the joy that it brings.

You already know you’re going to get beautiful images of your one special day. Why not keep them in an amazing book for all your family and friends to see as well?

Like most things in life, we like things to be tangible, tactile, touchable, with form and function. In this increasingly digital world, photographs live in a virtual space, tucked away in binary code. We feel that they deserve a home, a mark on a page, in a book, living between the covers. We then created some hand designed symbols and chose fonts which reflected the personality of the couple and the feel of the day.

Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED

DO YOU TRAVEL FOR WEDDINGS?

Yes, no distance is too far! Miss Wang Photography is based in Gauteng, South Africa. While we cover the whole of Gauteng, we would love to travel and are road trip/flight ready! For lifestyle shoots the first 20 km is included & for Weddings it is 100 km. Thereafter I charge R4/km.

DO YOU SHOOT DIGITAL OR FILM?

We shoot digital. If you would like to know more about my equipment, please see the What's in our Bag section, under About us.

HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS DO YOU SHOOT WITH?

Yes I do. Chan, my husband is my assistant and also acts as a great second shooter. So it's 2 photographers for any of our packages.

DO YOU OFFER SAME-SEX MARRIAGE PHOTOGRAPHY?

Of course! Anytime real love manifests itself in two people, we are honored to be the ones chosen to show the world what that looks like.

WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE THE IMAGE THE BEST POSSIBLE?

  • Be yourself: Firstly, you need to just be yourself and enjoy the day! Try to relax and take in every moment. The happier you are, the easier it will be for me to capture natural emotions & moments.

  • Natural light: One of the most important things for me as a photographer, is light. The amount of light available in a room determines the outcome of the photos. If you like natural photos, I suggest you book a guesthouse or hotel room with lots of natural light for the time spent getting ready. White walls are always the first choice and a firm personal favourite.

  • Outside Ceremonies: If your ceremony is going to be outside, please ensure that you stand under a shaded area (eg. a big tree or a linen gazebo), this will help to reduce hard shadows / bright light on your face.

  • Extra Lighting: Try and add extra lighting to your reception venue - there are great lighting companies around that can help you create an amazing atmosphere and give me enough ambient light to take gorgeous photos.

  • Candles: If you plan to only have candles for your reception, please let me know - adding some naked bulbs / extra lighting is advised.

  • Reception Decor: If possible, please ask your florist / stylist to have the reception area ready 1 hour before I start photographing the bride (exact time can be discussed closer to the wedding)

  • Family Photos: I recommend you that you keep your family photos to a list of 8-10 groups at most.

  • Special Requests: Please share any special requests / anything out of the ordinary with me, so that I'm fully aware of everything that will happen on the day.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME FOR PHOTOS?

The best light of the day is at sunrise and sunset. I prefer to use the last 45 minutes before sunset for your couple shoot. If you'd like to know what time the sun will set on your wedding, you can use this nifty website Timeanddate.com.

I LIVE OUTSIDE OF GAUTENG AND WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO MEET UNTIL THE WEDDING, IS THIS A PROBLEM?

No, not at all! We have many clients outside of Gauteng and we can discuss everything either through email or via Skype meetings. If you have enough time prior to the wedding to meet up, I’d love to meet you over a cup of coffee.

COULD YOU ASSIST ME WITH THE TIMELINE ON THE DAY? HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU NEED FOR PHOTOS?

We'd gladly assist in setting up a timeline / guideline for you! To ensure we have sufficient time for the most important moments we strongly suggest taking the following time allocations into consideration:

  • Decor shots: 30 min (we prefer to photograph all decor before I go to the bride. Please ask your stylist / florist to be done on time.)

  • Bride before the ceremony: 1 - 2 hours

  • Ceremony: 30 min – 1 hour (depending on the ceremony)

  • Family & Group shots: 15 min – 20 min (list of group photos to be provided prior to the wedding)

  • Bridesmaids + Groomsmen: 15 min - 20 min

  • Couple photos: 45 min - 1 hour+

  • Reception: Totally up to you. Until 10pm.

DO YOU USE EXTRA LIGHTING EQUIPMENT?

We love working with natural light, however where necessary we do use flash. Just a little tip: one of the best things you can do for great reception shots is create enough light in the reception area. Candles are not enough.
